One hoody, two girls, and the cultures of Asia.... (Hoody holders 4 1/2)

As I left my loving owner, hoody holder 3 1/2, I slowly began to travel the rest of China after all that fun hanging about the depths of Europe. My owners found me useful as it was cooooold in China. Although my owners were appreciative of my warm-making abilities, they seem to have neglected to take pictures of me everywhere we went. So these pictures will have to do:

At the Lama temple in Beijing which was our first show of absolute devotion in asia. (I was always ready for a picture, unlike this hoody holder. Tsk!...)

Riding the trains hardcore style. On the smallest bunk. At least that train ride was only 12 hours. There was one train we took where my holders had to sit on a hard Chinese train seat for 24 hours, and they didn't turn out the lights! I can tell you, my owners didn't look too good after that.

After China we mosied on down to Vietnam, where we stomped in the fields of Sa Pa:
Doesn't my owner look happy? :P Some of the little girls that lived in the villages in Sa Pa made those flower adornments she is wearing, isn't that sweet?? The trekking in Sa Pa tested my abilities to keep them warm after they'd got used to the slightly warmer climes of Hanoi.

Once we left the north of Vietnam I felt my redundancy coming on, the temperatures were climbing and I was shoved to the bottom of the rucksack. :( Whil my holders jaunted their way around Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, I didn't so much as get a sniff of fresh air. Although I do feel honoured as I was the only piece of warm clothing in the bag. I reigned supreme if ever their was a cold night (of which there were few but it was a position that needed to be filled and I was the hoody for the job *smug*)

We moved on to India where we roamed the South for a while until we hit the North, where I was once again useful! Score! I finally managed to grab a few pics! Look Look! It's me!! In Delhi! Yes!!!
Hmm, by this time the not so blonde hoody holder had managed to keep me for her own. The holders seemed to be a bit distressed in India though, the blatant sexism was clearly getting them down. I tried my best to cheer them up with my blueness, but after all, I am only one hoody in the face of a society of leering men.Also while in Delhi I got a taste of local culture as we were there for the festival of Holi, the Hindu festival of colour! Basically the whole city goes crazy and chucks coloured powder at each other and the streets and people become a bright collage of powdered craziness. I got off lightly, but it was a great day!

We moved on to Agra! The home of the Taj Mahal! :D

Look look! It's the Taj-Mahal. That was a fun day, my holders were a bit boring though. They didn't seem to be impressed, but I was chuffed that I saw yet another wonder of the world. I'm on a roll!
It was so big! Look how I'm drowned out. Up close you can't see the top of it, very disorientating.
After India we went to Nepal! Which seemed to cheer those ever faithful holders up a lot. And it was still cold! Yes! I was out in full flurish. :D

And here I am at the buddhist stupour in Kathmandu! I absolutely loved Nepal. The air was clear (-er than India), and my holders cheered up as they joyfully skipped through the streets of Thamel (KTM). See look, she's even smiling in this picture, nearly. The Nepali people are very friendly too, always laughing and smiling. Completely the opposite of Indians.

And so after this whirl wind 6 month tour of Asia I'm sad to leave holders 4 1/2, but excited about the prospect of hoody holder 5 1/2 actually taking me out of her bag while in Bangkok!

From Wall To Wall (hoodi holder no. 3 1/2)

It's been a big trip in safe hands across a few countries a few time zones and a few differnt modes of transport.
From the hand off in Bratislava i found myself with a new owner. From there i was taken back into germany (been there done that but it's still an amazing city. Frankfurt then train to berlin...)
Wall number one... The remains of the berlin wall...

Then up intop the baltic Tallinn in Estonia. I started to feel much more useful as the tempuratures dropped more and then a ferry to helsinki.
From there I was taken on a plane to Moscow where i caught a train across siberia deep into the hills of mongolia. Five day run on the train and then another 3 days has found me in Beijing.
the camera has picked up a little USB cable for easy uploading of photos held on by a little blue man.

this is where i end my trip with hoodi holder no. 3 1/2...

and the other is with a nomadic herder deep in the hills of Mongolia

I'm sad to see the hoodi go... hope that it enjoys further travels in to hands of hoodi holders number 4 1/2 and beyond...

it started as a birthday present in Prague that initiated this idea. it has since been to cesky krumblov, linz, vienna and now bratislava where K will now be passed on. more to come

Now that you have taken a photo in the presence of such esteemed and travelled company the time has come to passs the hoody K and camera to the next appropriate traveler who you deem worthy of such a task.
The way to track k's journey far and wide, is through this web page....so load your photos and blog here. it would be good to hear of your (the hoody holder) missions with (and without) K in addition to the photos you attach. you never know you may even bump into a fellow hoody holder one day.

note to upload photos a standard usb cord will work. if you don't have one surely a hoody holder further down the line will have one.
